How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the perfect rental home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First and foremost, have your group choose vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. T1416: Coastal Comfort with Stunning Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Additional considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
