Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. T1416: Coastal Comfort with Stunning Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is suitable for your family.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you crave, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
