Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Totes Adorbs - clean 2 bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
