Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, shift your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Unwind in Comfort - OV Junior Suite Jamaican Bldg has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
