Tricks and tips to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated Oceanview King Studio! Sleeps 4! Sea Mist 51104 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just before checking out, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
