Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby tours and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Ocean Lakes - Site M28 Walk to Water Park/Pool & Arcade! Beach Views! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
