Booking the best vacation property experience:
Finding your best deal:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ground Floor Condo 2 bed 2 bath Riverwalk at Arrowhead Country Club Unit 104 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before you reserve the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Upon arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
