Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Sticking to your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking yourvacation home:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Newly Renovated 1 Bedroom Condo- Oceanfront Views! Boardwalk 1139 has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
