Find your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations.   • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More considerations:

  • Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
