How to find the best rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best rental home:
- First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Stunning Oceanfront 1Br Suite With Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
