Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and pick a perfectrental:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Pristine, Cozy Retreat in Ocean Lakes (Brand New!) has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
