Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Wonderful oceanview condo, 3 bedrms, near to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
