Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First, have your group select trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. World Tour Golf Resort #105 - Golf Course Front has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
- Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
