Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the largest rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Wyndham Seawatch Condo Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
