Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book the bestrental:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. ???? King 1 Bedroom Oceanfront near Tanger right off HWY 22 Myrtle Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what is best for your vacation.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Protect your property!
- Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
