How to get the best rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Palace 405 ocean view studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
