Tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Oceanfront Three Bedroom Condo 11th Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
