How to book the best vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Select vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 11th-floor, oceanfront snowbird-friendly studio w\/ WiFi, pool\/hot tub, AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
