Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • To find the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing and booking the perfectvacation home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Closest St. James Park Villa to Beach and Pool. 3 Full-Bath Master Suites has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
