Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Choosing the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Breeze Retreat Newly Remodeled! *NEW* has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. If not, contact the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Record any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
