Strategies to get the very best vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by choosing the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 1802A Ocean Lakes Pet Friendly Golf Cart????????????????????????? has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Advice for your stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
