Our top Rental booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 18th Floor 3 Bedroom Oceanfront Stunning View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you crave, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
