Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a rental home:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. 19th-floor oceanfront condo with high-speed WiFi & central AC has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the property manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
