Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your search:
- Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 2 Bedroom, 2 Bath Condo, 2 Blocks from the BEACH! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
- Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
