How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Very Nice! Oceanfront Brigadune 11D on Shore Drive has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges may be applied to your contract.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
