Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 2 Bedroom overlooking the salt Marsh with an easy walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
