Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- The earlier you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and choose your prefect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 3-bedroom mobile home in Ocean Lakes - Seasonal Water Park Access Included! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
- If your group is traveling with pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
