Our top Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
Finding the best value:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and pick the perfectrental:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 303 of desired C building, amazing ocean views. Pool side with stunning sunrises has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a great time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
