Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. King Bed in Master Pool View 1200 SF has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your family.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at departure. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
