Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Start by having your group decide on the best dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. BEST360 OCEAN VIEW ! RELAXATION! BREATH TAKING! OCEAN LAKES FAMILY CAMPGROUND has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
