Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- To start, have your family decide on dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 3A Windermere by the Sea - access to all amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
