Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. 3A Windermere by the Sea - access to all amenities! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before booking your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
Tips to have a terrific stay:
- Store the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
