Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 3BR, 2BA, Sleeps 6 ,1st Floor Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
