Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 3BR 3BTH Club Lvl Ocean View\nBOOK FOR SPRING! LOW RATES! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
