Tricks and tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have deals for local shops and restaurants.
How to select the best rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. 3BR/2BA Spectacular Southern View! Perfect for Families-Check Out Our Low Rates! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for your stay:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
