Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by selecting a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. 3rd-floor oceanfront studio with AC, balcony, beach views, hot tubs, pools, gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
