Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Newly Renovated Ocean View 2 Bdrm Condo 9th Floor! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during arrival. message the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
