Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Family friendly villa with tons of space and full access to all amenities! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
