How to get the best rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the best vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. 3rd floor Oceanfront studio with AC, WiFi, shared pool & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
