Tips to get the very best vacation home experience:
Sticking to your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to date ranges and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 6th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
