Getting the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have money saving offers on local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family needs. 6th-floor oceanfront studio with pool, hot tub, & AC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If not, email the host before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your family.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Get the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
