Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a rental budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To find the largest rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Ace Basin - Across From Ocean - Pet Friendly has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before reserving the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
