Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to book & When to go:
- To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose vacation dates and budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 6th-floor studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
