Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 6th Floor Getaway Angle Ocean View 3BR Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges applied to your contract.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. text the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
