Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. If not, call the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your group.

- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

- During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to inspire new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective.
