Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips:

When to go & When to book:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. oceanfront 7th-floor condo with pool, hot tub, AC & gym has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Record any issues with the property at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
