Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Finding the best rental:

  • Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. 7th-Floor, Oceanfront, Snowbird-Friendly Studio w\/ WiFi, AC, Shared Hot Tub\/Pool has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
