Our top Rental home booking tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to pick the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. 7th-floor oceanfront studio with AC, pool, & hot tub has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
