Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select your dates and budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Awesome End Ground Oceanfront pool Honeymoon Suite has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Call the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
