Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your budget:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking a perfectrental:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. 8th-floor oceanfront condo with central AC, & W\/D has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
