Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 9th Floor Ocean View Snowbird Friendly Studio w\/ Shared Pool\/Hot Tub, AC, WiFi has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect your property!
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
