Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Direct oceanfront studio a high floor with pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
